Current UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will take on lightweight champion Daniel Cormier in UFC’s biggest event, UFC 226, this month on Saturday, July the 7th, at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. The event will also feature Max Holloway and Brian Ortega fight it off for the UFC Featherweight Championship. This is set up to be one of the biggest nights of the year for MMA fans.
Most fans will be delighted to know that the event will be streamed on a number of online channels in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. For a few fans though, traveler particularly, this might not be as exciting as the streaming channels are only available in limited geographic areas.
Don’t pack your bags yet, there is a way to enjoy the game even if you happen to be currently staying abroad. By downloading and using a VPN, you will be able to access your online streaming subscription just as if you were home.
How Does it Work?
VPNs, or virtual private networks, are online services that use a network of servers scattered around the globe to reroute your traffic, making it seem as if you are within the area of coverage. Basically, streaming websites look at your IP to know where you live. If the IP address falls outside their area of coverage they will block you. But if you’re using a VPN, all you need to do it to route your traffic through a server located within the area of coverage; the VPN service will substitute your IP with a local one.
For this event, we recommend ExpressVPN. In all our tests, ExpressVPN proved to be the fastest one. This is particularly important if you want to watch the fights in HD without any interruptions.
It’s really simple, here’s how you can do it
- Download and install a VPN
- Connect through a server located in the country where you streaming channel will be available
- Now access their website again and you’re good to go
Here’s a list of broadcasters and their respective areas of coverage
