Seth Macfarlane is a comedy legend and the creative mind behind the hit shows Family Guy and American Dad. Now, taking it up a notch, he’s starring in his own creation, The Orville. The second installment is set to air on Fox on December 30th. The show takes place 400 years into the future. Fox is still geo-blocked outside the US. So, if you want to watch the second season of Orville outside the US, better make use of a VPN as soon as possible.
Stream The Orville Season 2 on Fox with a VPN
The first season’s finale drew an average of 3.54 million viewers in the US. As with Family Guy and American Dad, Macfarlane’s shows have a global appeal, so expats and travelers in the UK, Canada, Australia, and elsewhere are probably trying to figure out a way to get it in their region. Fox is geo-blocked abroad. But as things stand, if you try to stream the show abroad you’ll be getting this geo-error message: “This content is not available in your location”.

FOX Error
Don’t worry, you can watch the show as it airs if you use a VPN. All you have to do is connect to US server and your problem will be solved. Once you do that, you’ll have an American IP address and trick fox into thinking that you’re in its region. As a result, the ban will be lifted and you’ll be able to access all shows on Fox wherever you are. Here’s a simple guide to do so:
- Sign up with a VPN, ExpressVPN is highly recommended.
- Download and install the VPN application on your Android, iOS, PC, or Mac.
- Sign in with your VPN account and connect to a US server.
- Launch Fox’s website or the Fox Now app.
- Watch the Orville season 2 starting on December 30th.

The Orville Season 2 – What We Know
The show was officially renewed for a second season back in November 2017 after some debates. You will be seeing your favorite space cast tackling missions in space once again this year. There have been talks about a Family Guy crossover. Seth Macfarlane denied the rumors, but we’re still hoping that he is bluffing.
The cast of the USS Orville will be back. That includes:
- MacFarlane as the ship’s captain Ed Mercer
- Adrianne Palicki as first officer and Ed’s ex-wife Kelly Grayson
- Penny Johnson Jerald as Dr. Claire Finn
- Scott Grimes as Lieutenant Gordon Malloy
- Peter Macon as Lieutenant Commander Bortus
- J Lee as Lieutenant Commander John LaMarr
- Mark Jackson as science and engineering officer Isaac
Recurring stars will also return in season two:
- Norm Macdonald as engineer Lieutenant Yaphit
- Victor Garber as Admiral Halsey
- Chad Coleman as Klyden
- Rachael MacFarlane as USS Orville’s computer.
“In Season 2 you’re going to see more expansion of the characters because in Season 1 I think you got the groundwork. But in Season 2 we’re elevating to different levels, we’re understanding relationships, we’re understanding inner workings of individuals, how they react to things and situations. And surprises, surprises, surprises.”
Surprises everybody. Oh well, we just have to wait till it airs on December 30th on Fox.
How to Watch the Orville Season 2 – Final Thoughts
There’s very little information about the second season so far; we just want to fast forward and start watching already. Don’t forget that it is not possible to catch the show abroad without the aid of a VPN. So, get yourself ready, access Fox outside the US, tune in on December 30th and stream The Orville Season 2.
